SUMMERDAZE 25th ANNIVERSARY
SummerDaze is in the HOUSE!!!
On Saturday June 15th the St. Benedict and Toronto Salesian community came together to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of SummerDaze! It was truly a blessing to see so many past, present (and future) faces of camp; Over 250 people attended the eventful evening, many who were campers, staff members, and long supporters of SummerDaze throughout the years.
The night was an ode to a long standing tradition at camp...The Ultimate Talent Show! We were graced with talent from current campers, as well as current and past camp staff: Enigma, Johnny and the Earwigs, Marla Zinger, Fairchild (to name a few).
We were also blessed to have with us our Salesian sisters (FMAs) as well as our Salesian confreres (SDBs), especially our special guests Br. Bernie Dubé (founder of SummerDaze), Fr. Dave Sajdak, Br. Gerard (Gerry) Harasym, and our Provincial, Fr. Tom Dunne.
The celebrations began with a beautiful mass at St. Benedict Parish and continued at Monsignor Percy Johnson high school with dinner and the Ultimate Talent Show. The evening included camp classics: Don Bosco trivia, cookies and juice, and of course...FREEZIES!
A very special thank you to all those involved in planning and animating the evening, especially to our current, 2013 SummerDaze Staff!
